The permeable membrane within the 100mm plastic circular tube, encourages moisture migration because, normally, the outdoor temperature and vapour pressure are lower than indoors.
This membrane acts as a molecular sieve, allowing water vapour to pass to the outside whilst resisting rapid air movement and, therefore, heat loss. Ideal locations for installation are in bedrooms and in particularly cold areas. Most efficient operation is in conjunction with automatic mechanical ventilation in both the kitchen and bathroom.
As draughts are restricted by the membrane, moisture control of bedrooms etc. is achieved without discomfort to the occupants.
